It was OK ..however, pricey for the product my friend had the pizza and she did not like it the waiter was nice and comped.. the meal. I had the Cod sandwich it was tasty however the Cod was very small and it tasted more like a Cole slaw and dressing sandwhich..hardly any meat in the sandwich..
Nice enough dinner at Dopo last night. Attentive and helpful wait staff who felt comfortable helping us make choices from the menu. A few gripes: we got seated with our backs to one of the two doors to the place where the wind buffeted us as people came in and out. The wines we ordered were a bit flat. The pizza was excellent, as were the appetizers (a swordfish crudo and a crab and arugala crustini), but what should have been the highlights, Sicilian meatballs and a holiday timballo, were both on the heavy side, with the crust of the timballo soggy and unappealing. I'd go back, but would order differently, perhaps sticking to pizza and pasta for the mains.
Delicious, flavorful, classy, and friendly. We arrived 45 minutes before close and were still treated with a wonderful dining experience. Their bread and oil were fresh and tasty. The lasagna was complex and full of flavor, and the pizza was authentic Italian, per my Italian fiance. The cannoli was the best I've ever had, and went very well with a cappuccino from the bar. Bravo!
Found everything to be very well prepared and tasted delicious. Can't really decide on the favorite, but a few standouts are the lasagna, sausage and pizza. The dessert was also very good. All this was also pretty light on the wallet. Definitely recommend it but you should definitely make a reservation as they get pretty busy.
It's an experience choosing from 7 up to 14 course servings. The service was very good but the theme of the individual course seemed somewhat disconnected and some of the dishes lacked distinct flavor. The pizza is very good and one course in particular the thinly slice sword fish was amazing. Overall a good experience.
I kind of don't want to review this place because it's the best kept secret of the east bay. The food is always good. Their special events offer great wine pairings and they always blow me away with their veg and fish options. I normally don't like fish but they cook it with such a perfect mix of sweet, sour, salty and spicy. It's never too much of anything but just the right amount of everything. The portion sizes are just right to be able to have a starter the main and desert.
Now to the service. They are a small place that has a staff that's loyal, which is a good sign. They always seem to really love the dishes because when you ask their mouth waters! The service is wonderful! They are attentive, know when to come fill your glass and when to pickup the plates.
From the outside it doesn't look like much but the experience is like being at home with family eating fresh seafood of the coast of some little Italian village you are passing through but never want to leave!
My friends took me here for my birthday and it was one of the best dinners I've had in recent memory. Everybody working here was friendly and warm (and I'm sure we were a little more obnoxious than the average party 😂) and the food is incredible. Tonnato was on point and the ling cod tasted like love... Anyways, go here. Dopo is amazing.
This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots to go for dinner. Pizzas and appetizers are always a great bet. The wine list is small but will picked - everything I have tried has gone great with my meal. My only reservation is that their recent switch to a Sicilian-focused menu has come with a price hike (ironic if you know Sicily).
